ON HIS NEARLY SIXTY YEARS OF PAINTING EXPERIENCE, MR. YONGKAI LIU
created landscape paintings that depict the integration of the nature
and human as well as the transient effects of light and color with
an emphasis on the harmony of human and the nature. In his landscape
paintings, figures are not mere decoration of the scene, but the spirit
of it that gives the landscape life. In the last 60 years, he has
created more than four thousand drawings and paintings. As a nationally-recognized
artist, Mr. Yongkai Liu was invited to Japan to paint a high-profile
wall painting. In recognition of his extraordinary artistic achievements,
Mr. Liu was awarded the title of the ¡°Prominent Fine Artists
and Calligraphers of the World,¡± selected and evaluated
by fine art organizations from sixteen countries. Yongkai Liu is one

MULING SUN IS A PROMINENT ARTISTwho
created outstanding art works that have been exhibited in many national
and international exhibitions. She successfully creates a unique style
to represent color and light in a harmonious mutual reflection. Her
paintings present the tranquility of life, an urban surrealism of
the fast-pace modern world. The international fine art community started
to recognize Sun¡¯s paintings in the mid 1990's. In 1994,
Sun was invited by the Asian Art Coordinating Council to participate
in a special fine art exhibition: ¡°Holding Up Half of the
Sky: Contemporary Women¡¯s Art From the People¡¯s
Republic of China,¡± held from September 14 through October
22, 1994 in Denver, Colorado. Her biography and achievements in fine

JULIUS LIU WAS BORN INTO A FAMILY WITH A TRADITION OF CONTRIBUTION
TO FINE ART and was grown up in a changing period in China. During
this time, a major trend arose of communication and exchange of art
theories and works between China and the rest of the world. Such an
information era provides him an opportunity to go beyond his own experience
and knowledge and to elevate himself to a higher level of artistic
expression. He started to absorb fine art theories outside of China.
He explores a new concept of time and space in his structural composition.
His efforts aim to go beyond the traditional conception of time and
space, light and color in order to depict his true feelings. Based
on his new concept, he created a number of unique and vivid paintings.
His painting style shows harmonic colors, fluent brush lines and sophisticated
composition. Attributed to his new concept of time and space, his
